TAKEO: The Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and the Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, Lt. Gen. Hun Manet, has continued to support the maintenance of peace and national development, saying that no one loves the Khmer people and protects the Khmer people more than the Khmer people themselves. He made this statement at the achievement ceremony at Wat Mongkol located in Trapeang Thum commune, north of Tram Kak district, Takeo province.
Lt. Gen. Hun Manet said he wishes to thank the people for protecting peace and continuing to spread the word and walk toward a special point of coexistence with harmony, no internal quarreling, helping each other, and continuing to develop oneself and one's families to be better.
He added that peace and tranquility in the past 24 years could have been quickly lost without the responsible participation of individual citizens and the clear commitment of the leaders.
"No one loves the Khmer people and protects the Khmer people more than the Khmer people themselves. So the Khmer people must be strong and be united to maintain national identity, independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national development for the future generations," he said.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commander reminded that Cambodia was only able to achieve full peace, national and territorial unity seen today through the win-win policy, which is Prime Minister Hun Sen's policy based on the principles of virtue, humanity, sharing, mutual trust, and doing whatever it takes to protect the life, property, and occupation of all Cambodians without discrimination.
For more than 23 years, Cambodia has achieved peace and national reconciliation, with full national unity, and one government that has benefited from the win-win policy of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen in 1998. Achieving complete peace has given the Royal Government enough opportunities to develop the country to this day.
The Prime Minister often states that he would not allow Cambodia to fall back into a state of war, declaring that peace must be maintained at all costs.
